Our Sloe Gin Fruit Cake is based on a traditional recipe handed down 3 generations and using the finest fruit soaked and plumped overnight in Yorkshire Sloe Gin for that sticky richness. One of Autumn's pleasures is gathering the seasonal jewels of the hedgerow. Our friends at Sloemotion, just outside York, continue to follow the ancient tradition of picking sloe's after the first frost to harvest and make Sloe Gin which we use in our cake.
